The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 8,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

I am a lifelong animal lover and an avid supporter of organizations that help find loving homes for unwanted pets. I'm a pet owner currently on my second dog that was "rescued" from owners who no longer wanted or could care for the animals. They have been the best companions and have enriched my life, and all animals deserve to share their lives with families that will love and care for them. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet - they're always there when you need them, and they ask so little in return.
