The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 8,000 animals annually.
Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Please donate toward this organization to help other dogs that have had rough beginnings like Pierce.

Pierce's story:

Pierce was adopted in May 2010 from Ginger's Pet Rescue in Seattle. He came from the Los Angeles area and he may have been abandoned during fires in LA in 2009 or 2010. He now was in a foster home, safe and sound but in need of a good home. Jayme learned from the foster mother that Pierce had been hit by a car recently, had an ear infection, an eye infection and needed a lot of love and TLC. Although this was daunting to hear, Jayme took Pierce and nursed him back to perfect health! He is now a loving, playful and healthy dog with a great enthusiasm for all people, children and many other dogs.
