The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Lindsey Hicks' Story
Please join me in the fundraising effort for this organization!  Salem and I will be running a 5k at Marymoore Park in June, and I am so excited to be supporting such a cause.  The Seattle Animal Shelter helps to reunite people with their lost pets, adopts out animals to great homes, provides spay/neuter clinics, and cares for the cities neglected and forgotten animals.  It is sickening how many animals per year are put down because they have been abandoned, and now are sick and the funds are not there to care for them- millions.  This is what the "Help The Animals Fund" helps with for the Seattle Animal Shelter!
I have two rescued pups of my own, and strongly believe in this effort.  No pet should be put down because they have a health concern, before they have the chance to be a part of a family.  Salem came from an animal shelter in California, and Oakley was found tied to a tree when he was very tiny.  I hate to think that either of them could have been put down before ever coming home with me. Please help me to support this cause and keep the animals healthy and in great, happy homes!
