The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Frank Massaro's Story

Please join me in the fundraising effort for the 2013 Furry 5K!

I recently said goodbye to my best buddy Zoe, who was my friend and companion for the last 14 years.

As someone new to running, I decided to train towards my first event to raise funds for the Help the Animals Fund in memory of my friend Zoe with whom I shared so many good times.

I hope that by supporting HTAF, animals in need will get help, and others will get the chance to share the happiness and companionship of a new friend.
