The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Nick, Kael & Margot Zayas's Story:

Our own dear Margot Moops is a much-beloved Seattle Animal Shelter pup & adoption success story! Margot was just a baby (2.5 months!) when she was found roaming the streets of Seattle. We are so happy that SAS scooped her up and cared for her until she made her way into her forever home with us.

While Margot was lucky to come out of her adventure relatively scot-free, other pups are not so fortunate, coming into the shelter with a variety of immediate medical needs. We want to give back to the organization that found and fostered Margot, and help the SAS care for other animals in need.

Even if you can give only $5, Margot will jump for joy, because she knows every little bit counts. Or, you can come join Kael in cheering Nick and Margot on on the day of the run. :) Thanks for your help!
