The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Lucie's Story
I fostered and then adopted Lucie through a wonderful local rescue group called Georgia Peach Puppy Rescue (www.peachpuppies.org).  Although the Peach Puppies are mostly rescued from high kill shelters in other states, the Georgia Peaches also have a mission to support our local shelters.  I am joining them in the mission to support a local shelter by walking the Furry 5K with Lucie.  If you would like to make a small donation in support of the Seattle Animal Shelter (which has a great spay/neuter program that is used by the Peaches), that would be appreciated very much.  If you would like to join us on the walk, even better!
