The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

"My reason for supporting the Furry 5k is simple...it’s of helping those without a voice and only want to be loved and to give love be protected until they can find a good home! Just look into the eyes of your dog and then think of those who are not lucky enough to have someone to love them. Our donations help provide food and shelter to homeless/abused animal that would otherwise be killed or sold off to laboratories that ultimately kill them. I know we can't save them all...although that would be my wish, but every little bit counts. Every little bit contributes to the upkeep of animals till they can find safe loving home. I expect we will have a great time! See you all there! GO TEAM NUGGET! "
