The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Help me in fundraising for my team Caterpillars. Our dog, Murphy, is a recipient of the Help The Animals Fund at the Seattle Animal Shelter. At 4 months old he was found, tied up, at Magnuson off leash dog park. He was missing 75% of his hair because he had mange. It wasn't the contagious type of mange. The Seattle Animal Shelter nursed him back and adopted him to a family in Magnolia. They brought him back after a week because they saw him scratch and thought he'd give their other dog mange. When we adopted him, he had splotchy hair and a scab on his tail. He's filled out and his fur is all grown in and we love him.
