The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!



 
Droolin' and Rulin'

At Projectline Services, we have a deep commitment to helping others. Our team Droolin' and Rulin' intends to raise as much money as possible for the Seattle Animal Shelter by running our hind quarters off at this year's Furry 5K.

Please help us support those pound puppies and kittens. They need food, care, a good home, and love--just like the rest of us. It's shelters like this one that have enabled some of us to find our very best friends.

I'm participating this year in memory of Josie, who panted with me last year (she's the little black spot with the pink tongue in the lower right  hand corner of the team picture). We lost her in November. Josie was a much-loved rescue dog, as are the rest of my current pack, Whiley and Portia, aka the Love Puff. Thanks for donating!

My wife Amy and I found our cat Daisy at the Seattle Animal Shelter in 2008. After a while we realized that Daisy and our other cat Max had nothing to be afraid of, so we found our dog Murphy in 2011, and things have not been the same since. Its' hard to imagine our lives without them. We'd love to bring all 3 to the Furry 5K, but it would take Max & Daisy a couple days to get through it.

"This is Auntie Fisher. It is really hard to type this because I don't have any thumbs. I haven't been able to train much this year because my mom found this sport called rowing. Doesn't matter. I'm going to pull so hard during the 1st half of the race that I nearly clothesline all of my competition, and my mom is nearly dragged face down on the pavement. That is, until I tucker out and my mom has to drag me the last half of the race. That's how it goes every year. Mom found me at this race in 2007 when I was up for adoption from the Kent Animal Shelter, and we've been running it together ever since. I found her credit card in her purse and donated to my furry pound friends. I hope they find great homes like I did. Woof!"
