The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Shannon Meyer's Story
As a proud momma of Fred, my rescue dog, I am so thankful that there was a place for him to go to get medical care after he was found roaming the streets, covered in blood after being shot while lose on the streets of California. Without this, he would never have found us, his family.   I'm running this race to contribute to this organization, so that other dogs can be as lucky as Fred was.   (Our adoption wasn't affiliated through them, but I really admire any organization that helps out pets in need).  If you would like to help in any way and are able to do so, I really appreciate it!
