The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Ru has participated in this run for several years in one of her favorite parks.

RuDog has been reflecting on her wonderful life over the last ten years. She has ran, hiked, bicycled, canoed while exploring the greater Northwest. She likes driving too and even flew in a little airplane once. She loved it.

At 13 this spring, she still believes that she will win the Furry 5k race (which she might if not tethered to me) just like she believes that she will still catch that duck or squirrel.
