The Furry 5K raises money for the Help the Animals Fund (HTAF), which provides veterinary care and supplies for sick, injured or abused orphaned shelter animals.

The Seattle Animal Shelter takes in nearly 6,000 animals annually. Of those, many receive the lifesaving care they need thanks to the generous donations of individuals and companies.

The HTAF is an integral part of saving lives – with annual veterinary expenses of approximately $100,000, every dollar raised counts!

Joanne Wynstra

- Approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats. Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats).

 

-  I have personally experienced how shelter dogs make wonderful pets. The money I'm raising will help care for these shelter animals until they can find their forever home. Please consider helping! you are making a huge difference in an animal's life.

 

- Our 5K walk and fundraising is in honor Penny. She passed away peacefully in March.
